This living room couch was revived with thirty 2.5 oz cans of Dark Pink Craft and Clothing Paint.

“I love the finished project! I have already told some friends of mine about your product. We are in the antique collectible selling business and many times we need to change the color of things to people’s likings. I will definitely be ordering more of your spray paint. Here are before and after pictures. The original [living room couch] was brown and wasn’t what I wanted. Now it’s dark pink and the colors of the 60s!” —Tina, Washington

Fabric Spray Paint for Furniture

Fabric Spray Paint by Simply Spray® is a non-toxic, non-flammable aerosol paint for use on absorbent materials. Once applied, the paint gets absorbed by the fabric and does not change the feel or flexibility of it. The paint dries softly. Technically it is a paint, but it acts more like a stain or a dye. The color of the paint is permanent, fast-drying, and will not rub off once it is dry (which takes a suggested 72 hours).

For best results, first ensure the absorbency of the material you wish to spray by testing a small area with water. If the water beads up, then the upholstery paint will not work well. You would want to then use the Outdoor Paint. Outdoor Fabric Paint is waterproof and works on more fabrics but it does not dry softly like regular upholstery paint does. Before painting, read all the step-by-step instructions, make sure the material is dry, and make sure it is free of oils, waterproofing, stain resistance, and loose dirt before painting.

  1. Hi – do you have a medium or dark gray spray paint? I’d like to paint over my pale green sofa and chair. What would you recommend?

    1. Hi Joy,

Thanks for contacting us. Currently grey color we have is charcoal grey. I would say it is in the medium to dark range of a grey. You could check the color at http://www.fabricspraypaint.com/product-category/upholstery-fabric-spray-paint/

Click on the color swap, it will bring you into the detail page. In the description, it shows you the detail of the color and product. You are able to see if it fits your project. Put this in mind, the paint is waterbased product. It only works on water absorbent materials. The process is similar as dye process. Thus you could control color darkness a bit. Less coats will lead to lighter color, more coats will lead to darker color result.

Hope I answer your question. Feel free to contact us. We will try our best to help you with your project.

      Thanks,

      Jason Song
