Waterproof Outdoor Fabric Paint
We wanted to show how the Waterproof Outdoor Fabric Paint looks and feels when sprayed onto a soft fabric. We took a cotton tapestry and sprayed it with a coat of black Outdoor Fabric Paint and let it dry for 72 hours. As you can see in this video, when the paint dried, the fabric surface is sturdier and shinier, perfect for outdoor pieces you don’t want getting soaked in the rain and snow.
This Outdoor Fabric Paint is great for outdoor umbrellas, awnings, boat seats, and canopy shades. This paint provides a waterproof coat of protection against all kinds of weather and outdoor water activities. This paint is much different from the Upholstery Paint we carry, as it does change the texture and softness of the original fabric. Upholstery Fabric Paint preserves the soft feel of your fabric while Outdoor Paint applies a vinyl-like finish.

I have several canvas awnings on a commercial building that I want to have painted. Buying paint in a normal spray can doesn’t seem cost effective. Do you sell your paint in gallon size? I’d like to have my paint crew use their paint gun to spray the awnings.
If your paint sells in bigger quantities do I have to order it from you or do you have a distributor in Tucson, Arizona?

HI, I am wanting to paint a large icon on our assemetrical spinnaker sail, what paint would you suggest that won’t make the sail that much heavier, it is a very light weight material. We need to remove old racing sail numbers and want to cover it with our logo? What paint would you suggest, we use it only when it is dry out.

Hi Sandra,
I’m not sure our paint will completely cover the old number on the sail. The outdoor paint might mute it out substantially, but it would have to be applied in several coats and in a dark color. The outdoor paint dries to feel like vinyl. I’m not sure if this would be ideal for a sail. I would highly recommend buying one can and doing a test on a hidden area of sail first.

How many cans would you suggest for a wicker settee cushion and 2 wicker chair cushions. Changing color from faded green to burgandy.

Can I use this paint on an outdoor Rug that has faded due to sun. It sits on a wood, uncovered deck.
Hi Terri,
The paint is water based paint. It is designed for water absorbent fabric. Usually the outdoor rug is made of nylon/polyester. The water will not absorb into those type materials. We are not sure what type fabric your rug is made of. You could do a water test to see if it absorbs water to determine the paint will work for your project.
